>In which I bathe in the wudder

Hello hello! So this past weekend was the long anticipated vacation with Call (aka the Fraught Mini-Break). We went down to the Jersey shore, and it turned out to be extremely fantastic due to the easy-going, spontaneous, road-trippy vacation style of C. I woke up Friday night in a crappy motel room and realized I was SO HAPPY, and ditto Saturday night, sleeping on the hard ground in a clammy little tent, and ditto while looking out at waves and blue skies on any given day of the weekend. So hooray for me, it was not fraught but fun.

In anticipation of rain that never really came down we headed to Atlantic City first, where we went to the beach, walked the boardwalk, and searched for the gaudiest casino (I liked the western theme at Bally's). Call won $25 in quarters on a slot machine almost immediately, surprising us both. So that night we went to Ocean City, did the boardwalk there, and then went to aforementioned crappy motel in Somer's Point. Saturday we drove to Long Beach Island, went to a beach there, and bought a tent and stuff at Target so we could stay in a state forest that night ($2!!), where we proceeded to build a fire in the rain and get drunk off a bottle of wine. Sunday morning we woke up early, hungover in the woods, headed to the beach again, and then went deep sea fishing, that being the one goal of C.'s summer. However, in a cruel twist of fortune, I was the more successful fisherperson and landed two flounders that we ate last night. And that is My Selected Highlights Weekend Run-Down.

Also, though I may run Jersey down, I have to say that everyone we interacted with there was so nice that it was almost frightening. They are a good people, the Jersey people, even if they do say "wudder" instead of water until I want to scream.

So now I am still cruelly tired and need to air out the tent. Hopefully there will be better-written entries on the horizon, instead of these lame ass summary ones. Later, peoples.
